Beverly Hills/Morgan Park Chicago Memorial Day Parade on Memorial Day will honor Major John P. "Vegas" Mee, USMC as Parade Grand Marshall.

U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard will be led by Color Guard Sgt. Dennis Skowronski, USMC, Sgt. Brian Owens, USMC, Corporal Kris Robinson, and Corporal Mike Bates, USMC from 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines.

Parade Grand Marshall, Major John P. Mee, USMC will march with his family leading a large group of his old friends from his old neighborhood of St. Cajetan, Brother Rice High School and Northern Illinois University and his loyal gathering of U.S. Marine Corps Helicopter Air Crew, The Purple Foxes.

I am informed that more than 30 parade groups will participate in this family style parade, of all age groups, to the Ridge Park Field House Stage where I believe that Formal Ceremonies on Stage will feature and include the following presentations to a large enthusiastic crowd:

          1. Posting of the Colors by U.S.Marine Corps Color Guard;
        2. Master of Ceremonies Acknowledgments and Introduction of Dignitaries and Honored Guests;
        4. Introduction of Parade Grand Marshall, Major John P. Mee and his family by Alderman Rugai;
          5. Speech by Parade Grand Marshall; Recognition of Neighbors Serving Worldwide;
          6. City of Chicago Flag Presentation as requested from Alderman Rugai and presentation on behalf of Mayor Richard
            M. Daley to Kevin and Pat McAlinden for delivery to their Marine Son 1st Lt. Mike McAlinden, USMC, HQ Battery,
            3rd Battalion, 11th Marines, serving in Iraq;
          7. Call to Muster and recognition of each Military Service with voice response;
          8. Call for Moment of Memorial Silence;
          9. Bugler plays Taps
        10. Retirement of The Colors
