The Navy Commendation Medal


 
 

       The   Secretary   of   the   Navy   takes   pleasure   in   presenting   the
NAVY COMMENDATION MEDAL to

FIRST LIEUTENANT JOHN F. DRIGGS

UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS

for service as set forth in the following

       CITATION:

              "For meritorious service while serving as Avionics Officer of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 364, Marine Aircraft Group Sixteen, First Marine   Aircraft  Wing  from  24   November  1968  to  15  November   1969. Throughout  this period,  First Lieutenant Driggs  performed  his duties in an exemplary and  highly  professional  manner.   Working  tirelessly  and  with meticulous  attention to  detail, he  expeditiously  accomplished  all  assigned tasks and consistently provided his unit with outstanding support. Displaying exceptional initiative and leadership qualities, he  accepted several additional assignments,  including  Maintenance  Administrative  Officer;  Nuclear, Bio- logical,  and  Chemical  Defense   Officer;  Technical  Training  Officer;   and Officer  in Charge of the Squadron Reaction Platoon, repeatedly distinguish- ing  himself by the superior  manner  in  which he  performed his  demanding duties.  As  a  result of  his diligent and  resourceful  efforts,  the  operational effectiveness  of his  unit was greatly enhanced.  By  his diligence, superb pro- fessionalism, and loyal devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Driggs earned the respect  of all  who served with  him and  upheld the  finest traditions  of  the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service."
