Brits Find Hill 881S

A few months ago Colonel Dabney received an email from a young man in England asking for information about Hill 881S.  He and a few other friends were going to Vietnam and wanted to visit the hill since they had read a about it and its significance relative to the Siege of Khe Sanh.  Colonel Dabney, and others, supplied the group with information on how to find a guide to assist them and other matters they should be aware of prior to trucking to the top.  I am sorry to say I have lost the man's name but, here are three photos the group took.

The group pauses at a Bru village prior to the climb and to obtain a guide.

For those of you who have returned, this appears to be the valley at the bottom
of Hill 881S.  If so the group has completed the trip over the first hill after leaving
the Bru village and have stopped here near a steam.  This is a justified rest stop,
from here on it is very difficult.  I know, I couldn't make all the way to the top in
2003, had to stop about two thirds the way up and wait for Gary Riley, Tom
Esslinger, Jody Hawkins, Owen Matthews, my son "Bo" and the others to finish
the hill an pick me up on their way back to the village.  I actually took a nap,
It's hell to get old!

The group has almost reached the top of the hill in this photo.

This plague was left by our group in 2003
